“Welcome to Japan” – from the tradition of Raku ceramics, to the contemporary art of manga

Glorious Crew, Hysteria Art Gallery and Penthouse nights welcome you to the Japan-inspired event

On Thursday, September 26th, the fascinating spaces of the Glorious Crew International Real Estate were transformed, for one night, into a place where you can savor the delicate atmospheres of traditional Japan and experience the most contemporary pop extravagances of the Rising Sun.

Six artists are on display:

Elisabetta Cavalieri Ducati, ceramic artist specialized in Raku, an ancient Japanese technique used by Zen monks in the sixteenth century for the creation of bowls for the tea ceremony, whose philosophy is to achieve harmony through the simplicity of nature, and to be able to accept the result whatever the intention. Working intuitively with the material, Elisabetta thus breaks the traditional norms of Raku to create organic shapes that recall a primordial essence;

Antonio Franchi, who through his canvases with evocative colors will lead us instead to a more realistic Japan. At the center of each of his works: color. Pasty, flowing and invasive with its luministic effects, which takes the place of things and forces the observer to identify with his own experiences and memories to find a part of himself that had remained hidden, hidden.
A painting that combines with poetry, in a play of lights and shades capable of associating, in an reciprocal relationship, the fantastic with the real; visualizes the emotion, frames what remains in the memory or what is experienced dreamily, captures the real in the moment of its disappearance by taking possession of a return image, that is, fixes the fantastic in its becoming;

Claudio Montecucco, Tuscan photographer, presents for the first time: “Tokyo”. First project carried out indoors, without losing the spontaneity and naturalness that distinguishes his style of work. A succession of images, in which one has the feeling of being enveloped by a persistent aura of sensuality, where it is impossible not to be attracted by the looks, the expressions, the gestures, the situations represented, the details that at first glance are not very visible and which here turn out to be fundamental; detail is everything, and knowing how to grasp it in a fraction of a second, means for the artist knowing how to capture the spontaneity of the portrayed subject;

Vincenzo Musacchio, whose works will transport us to the enchanted world linked to Manga and Cosplay culture. Works that are the result of a careful and meticulous search for images, icons and brands recovered from different fields and subsequently glued on canvas, giving life to paintings imbued with meaning and endowed with enormous expressive power. Paintings with extraordinary attention to detail and refined care in the research of the subjects that make up the work;

Aleandro Roncarà, the “King of color” who has distinguished himself nationally for the originality of his drawings, in which a unique, inimitable style is easily recognizable. A style characterized by the black, marked and robust contours with which Aleandro outlines his figures. Black lines that support the characters, like funny and iridescent scaffolding. All emphasized by the use of unusual color combinations and the use of bright colors, which allow him to make the audience more involved in order to be able to give his own interpretation to his characters;

Marco Veronese, exponent of the Cracking Art group, who interprets with the project poetic “Sale da The”, the story of these places born to create a place of peace. In fact, it is said that the birth of the traditional Japanese tea room with the classic small entrance opening, was born from the need to create a closed space, suitable for isolating the outside also from a philosophical and symbolic point of view. Hence the idea of creating “paintings”, in which the external part is covered with lead to symbolize the “weight” of struggle, hatred, war, while the background of the entrance covered in gold leaf represents the place of serenity, inner light/illumination, pacification.

A visual and experiential journey aimed at deepening the work of contemporary artists selected specifically for the occasion by Hysteria Art Gallery in collaboration with the format of events and exhibitions curated by Marta Massara for Penthouse Nights.
The Real Estate environment was instead designed by SlowDandy, a partnership that promotes education in beauty, elegance and good taste, in dialogue with the works of the artists.

During the opening night, a live performance led the visitor to savor the atmospheres linked to the Japanese tradition.

The exhibition will be open until Wednesday 20 November.
