Higold Milano at Nauticsud: when outdoor design dialogues with the nautical world

Materials, comfort and formal research to rethink outdoor spaces between land and sea

The presence of Higold Milano at Nauticsud, in Naples, offers an interesting starting point to reflect on how outdoor design is evolving beyond the traditional boundaries of garden furniture, entering more and more into dialogue with the design language of boating.
At the fair, the brand will present a selection of collections designed for contemporary outdoor environments, where aesthetics and resistance coexist with particular attention to the quality of materials. More than a simple product exhibition, the participation is part of a broader design context: that of contamination between sectors that share similar needs, such as durability, comfort and technical performance.
The nautical world, in fact, has long been a privileged laboratory for design. Surfaces exposed to atmospheric agents, the need for structural lightness and attention to construction details are elements that are increasingly influencing domestic and contract outdoor furniture. In this sense, the proposals presented are placed along a line of continuity between living spaces and marine environments, suggesting an idea of fluid and transversal lifestyle.

Particular attention is paid to finishes and material combinations: aluminium structures, technical fabrics and surfaces designed to maintain colour stability and performance over time. An approach that reflects a consolidated trend in contemporary design, where research on materials becomes an integral part of the project and not just an aesthetic choice.
From a curatorial point of view, the presence at a boat show also highlights how the boundary between trade fairs is progressively blurring. Events traditionally linked to a specific field become hybrid platforms, capable of welcoming contributions from different disciplines and fostering new relationships between designers, companies and the public.
In this scenario, outdoor design takes on an increasingly strategic role: not only a complement to architecture, but an element capable of defining the identity of spaces and responding to new ways of living, characterized by greater continuity between interior and exterior.
Participation in Nauticsud can therefore be read as an opportunity to closely observe this evolution: a moment of confrontation between different design cultures, united by the common goal of improving the quality of the experience in open spaces, whether it is an urban terrace, a resort or a bridge over the sea.
