Cecil Balmonds acclaimed sculpture H_Edge makes its UK debut in Londons Spitalfields. A site specific installation that visitors are free to walk around and within, it is assembled using thousands of aluminium plates that are held in tension by pre-stressed chains; appearing to rise from the floor in an incredible balance of forces
H_Edge changes throughout the day. By day it is filled with light and colour, particularly on a bright sunny day.
By night, illumination transforms the same location into an otherworldly place; its complexity creating a chiaroscuro effect against the surrounding darkness.
