Growing old means collecting stuff and memories. That’s probably what inspired Tobias Juretzek, who created a revolutionary project in collaboration with Casamania, based on both recycling and remembering. “Rememberme” first appeard on the occasion of the 2011 Salone del Mobile Fair: it is a chair made of secondhand clothes, produced by squashing resin soaked jeans. A completely natural process consistent with the green side of the project, which adds something more to the Upcycling trend by bringing a secondhand item to a new life.
“Rememberme” was awarded with the GOOD DESIGN 2011 by Chicago Athenaeum. One year later two new items joined the range: Rememberme Table and Rememberme Mirror. Any piece is made out of the future owners’ clothes: the chair making requires 8 pairs of jeans or 4 pairs plus 5 kilos of cotton t-shirts. The chair costs around 700,00 € whilst table and mirror are sold for 1.000,00 €. A great way to turn old clothes into a useful design piece which will also help you saving space in the closet.
