Shower trays: two materials compared

Here are their characteristics, to know to make a wise choice

The choice of shower trays to be placed in the bathroom must be made taking into account the space available, the most suitable shape, the most suitable color to be inserted in the context and the material with which it is made.
It is precisely this last aspect that must be taken into high consideration, in order to have a resistant and long-lasting shower tray, but also to be able to customize the bathroom in the best possible way.
In addition, it must also be easy to clean and this depends mainly on the material chosen. The most popular and most used shower trays are those in resin and ceramic, but which one to choose between the two? Here are the characteristics between the two types, to know in order to make a wise choice.

Resin shower trays
Considered the trendiest choice of the moment, the resin shower tray is composed of a mixture of minerals that make it a very high quality, flexible and versatile material.
It is a perfect design solution for customizing sizes, shades and finishes and stands out for its ultra-thin thickness, generally about 3cm, which makes it perfect for installation flush with the floor.
Elegant and attractive from a point of view, this type of shower tray can be made to measure and is therefore also available in large sizes. This feature allows us to satisfy even the most particular requests. Other features of resin shower trays are:

Ceramic shower trays
Before materials such as resin and acrylic were introduced on the market, the ceramic shower tray was undoubtedly the most popular, however today it still remains a classic because it has characteristics that make it functional and aesthetically beautiful.
One of the advantages of this material is that it is easy to clean, in fact you just have to rinse with the hand shower and any residue goes away immediately. It can also be cleaned with aggressive products and generally does not damage, however, it is always advisable to check the product to be used. In addition, it has a particular resistance to scratches and remains unchanged in color over time. Other features of ceramic shower trays are:
– Resists scratches but not violent impacts and if it breaks it cannot be repaired
– To make it safer on the surface, reliefs must be added that make it non-slip
– It is quite heavy and difficult to lay and transport

The two types of shower trays differ not only in quality and characteristics, but also in costs. In fact, resin ones generally cost more, while ceramic ones cost less and are also ideal for those who intend to invest small budgets.
