The Iranian-born designer Layla Mehdi Pour knows something about this, and has made her entire watch collection fun, color and extreme adaptability.
Sophie… This is the name of the collection. A name that is not at all random, on the contrary, perfectly in line with the ironic and cheerful spirit of the designer. The explicit reference is to the sweet little girl, as well as the protagonist, of the cartoon Howl’s Moving Castle by Hayao Miyazaki, who was able to transform her appearance according to her feelings.
Like the perception that each of us has of the passage of time, which transforms with the variation of our feelings.
A plexiglass wall clock composed of two overlapping surfaces with twelve lines each. The lower dial is attached to the watch mechanism but the upper one can be rotated at will. Thanks to its modest size (35×28 cm) and the wide range of colors in which it is available, it can be easily inserted into existing furnishings.
