International Art Exhibition entitled \"The Milk of Dreams\", curated by Cecilia Alemani, organized by the Venice Biennale chaired by Roberto Cicutto <\/em>\n\nThe exhibition \"<em>The Milk of Dreams\" <\/em>is divided into the spaces of the <strong>Central Pavilion at the Giardini <\/strong>and those of the <strong>Corderie<\/strong>, the <strong>Artillery <\/strong>and in <strong>the outdoor spaces of the Gaggiandre <\/strong>and the <strong>Garden of the Virgins <\/strong>in <strong>the Arsenale complex<\/strong>. It includes <strong>213 artists from 58 countries <\/strong>(26 Italians). For the first time in the more than 127-year history of the Venetian institution, the Biennale includes a preponderant majority of female artists and non-binary people.  \n\nThe exhibition presents <strong>contemporary works <\/strong>and <strong>80 new productions <\/strong>conceived specifically for the Art Biennale, in dialogue with historical works dating from the nineteenth century to the present day for a total of <strong>1,433 works and objects on display.<\/strong>\n\nCOUNTRIES\nThe Exhibition is flanked by <strong>80 National Participations <\/strong>in the historic Pavilions at the Giardini, the Arsenale and in the historic center of Venice. <strong>There are 5 countries present for the first time at the Art Biennale<\/strong>: <strong>the Republic of Cameroon<\/strong>, <strong>Namibia<\/strong>, <strong>Nepal<\/strong>, <strong>the Sultanate of Oman <\/strong>and <strong>Uganda<\/strong>. The Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Uz ekistan are participating for the first time with their own pavilion. The <strong>Italian Pavilion <\/strong>at the Tese delle Vergini in the Arsenale, supported and promoted by the Ministry of Culture, Directorate General for Contemporary Art and Architecture and Urban Peripheries. Title of the exhibition: <em>History of the night and destiny of comets, <\/em><strong>curated by Eugenio Viola<\/strong>, a work by <strong>Gian Maria Tosatti.<\/strong>  \n\n<strong>UKRAINE SQUARE\n<\/strong>In order to give a voice to the artists and artistic community of Ukraine and express solidarity with its population in the aftermath of the invasion by the Russian government, <strong>La Biennale di Venezia <\/strong>presents <strong><em>Piazza Ucraina<\/em><\/strong>, a place of debate and dialogue, curated by <strong>Borys Filonenko, Lizaveta German, Maria Lanko, Curators of the Ukraine Pavilion<\/strong>. Built in the context of the 59. International Art Exhibition, with the collaboration of the <strong>Ukrainian Emergency Art Fund (UEAF) <\/strong>and the <strong>Victor Pinchuk Foundation<\/strong>, <em>Ukrainian Square <\/em>is an installation <strong>designed by the Ukrainian architect Dana Kosmina <\/strong>and set up at the Spazio Esedra of the Giardini della Biennale.\n We hope \u2013 <strong>underlined Roberto Cicutto <\/strong>\u2013 that this initiative will contribute to raising awareness in the world against war and all its consequences.\"  \n\n<strong>COLLATERAL EVENTS\n<\/strong>There are <strong>30 <\/strong>Collateral Events admitted by the Curator and promoted by national and international non-profit bodies and institutions, organized in numerous venues of the Ci di Venezia and with a wide range of contributions and participations that enrich the pluralism of voices that characterizes the Exhibition.\n\n<strong>INTERNATIONAL JURY and GOLDEN LIONS FOR LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT\n<\/strong>The  <strong>International Jury of the 59. International Art Exhibition <\/strong>, appointed by the Board of Directors of the Biennale on the proposal of the Curator Cecilia Alemani, is composed of <strong>Adrienne Edwards <\/strong>(USA), President of the Jury, <strong>Lorenzo Giusti <\/strong>(Italy), <strong>Julieta Gonz\u00e1lez <\/strong>(Mexico), <strong>Bonaventure Soh Bejeng Ndikung <\/strong>(Cameroon), <strong>Susanne Pfeffer <\/strong>(Germany). \nThe Jury will award the following official prizes: <strong>Golden Lion for the best National Participation<\/strong>; <strong>Golden Lion for the best participant of the <\/strong>International Exhibition; <strong>Silver Lion for a promising young participant <\/strong>of the International Exhibition.\nThe <strong>Golden Lions for Lifetime Achievement <\/strong>of the <strong>59.
