Scheduled from 11 to 21 September 2025, the new edition carries a special significance: it coincides with the <strong data-start=\"625\" data-end=\"673\">60th anniversary of Singapore\u2019s independence<\/strong> and bears the title <em data-start=\"694\" data-end=\"714\">\u201cNation by Design\u201d<\/em>, a tribute to the fundamental role of design in shaping the nation\u2019s identity.<br data-start=\"793\" data-end=\"796\" \/>With over <strong data-start=\"806\" data-end=\"819\">70 events<\/strong> across the island, the festival will offer a journey intertwining <strong data-start=\"886\" data-end=\"925\">history, future and experimentation<\/strong>. The four main <a href=\"https:\/\/sdw.designsingapore.org\/design-districts\/\"><strong data-start=\"941\" data-end=\"961\">Design Districts<\/strong><\/a> are: <strong data-start=\"967\" data-end=\"987\">Bras Basah.Bugis<\/strong>, the creative and cultural heart; <strong data-start=\"1022\" data-end=\"1040\">Marina Central<\/strong>, which explores the theme <em data-start=\"1067\" data-end=\"1086\">\u201cDesign for Care\u201d<\/em>; <strong data-start=\"1088\" data-end=\"1099\">Orchard<\/strong>, with a focus on dialogue and youth co-creation; and the new <strong data-start=\"1161\" data-end=\"1187\">Singapore Science Park<\/strong>, centred on <strong data-start=\"1200\" data-end=\"1215\">REINVENTION<\/strong> and the relationship between science, technology and design.\r\nAmong the most anticipated installations is the <strong data-start=\"1328\" data-end=\"1369\">Unnatural History Museum of Singapore<\/strong>, an immersive showcase at the <strong data-start=\"1400\" data-end=\"1426\">National Design Centre<\/strong> that reinterprets the nation\u2019s evolution as a product of ingenuity and creative adaptation. Other surprising exhibitions include <strong data-start=\"1556\" data-end=\"1604\">The Sausage of the Future: Singapore Edition<\/strong>, which addresses themes of <strong data-start=\"1632\" data-end=\"1650\">sustainability<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1655\" data-end=\"1671\">food culture<\/strong> through innovative reinterpretations of one of the world\u2019s oldest foods.","testo_b":"<p data-start=\"1748\" data-end=\"2066\">The festival also looks to the <strong data-start=\"1779\" data-end=\"1799\">future of design<\/strong> with internationally focused events. The <strong data-start=\"1841\" data-end=\"1865\">Design Futures Forum<\/strong>, curated by <strong data-start=\"1878\" data-end=\"1891\">Aric Chen<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1896\" data-end=\"1913\">Ong Ker-Shing<\/strong>, will bring together architects, thinkers and innovators to discuss global challenges related to sustainability, technology and collective well-being.\r\nAt the <strong data-start=\"2075\" data-end=\"2096\">ArtScience Museum<\/strong>, the exhibition <strong data-start=\"2113\" data-end=\"2142\">Another World is Possible<\/strong> will present over 100 works spanning architecture, film and speculative literature, inviting the public to imagine alternative and resilient futures.\r\nThe <strong data-start=\"2300\" data-end=\"2322\">Design Marketplace<\/strong> will take shape at <strong data-start=\"2342\" data-end=\"2369\">FIND \u2013 Design Fair Asia<\/strong>, the region\u2019s largest trade event with over <strong data-start=\"2414\" data-end=\"2442\">250 international brands<\/strong> and five national pavilions, accompanied by the<a href=\"https:\/\/sdw.designsingapore.org\/events\/emerge-find-2025\/\"> <strong data-start=\"2491\" data-end=\"2508\">EMERGE @ FIND<\/strong><\/a> platform, dedicated to young designers and intercultural dialogue.\r\nThere will also be participatory initiatives, from celebrations along the <strong data-start=\"2653\" data-end=\"2681\">Singapore River Festival<\/strong> to activations in neighbourhoods like <strong data-start=\"2720\" data-end=\"2735\">Jalan Besar<\/strong>, transformed for the occasion into true urban laboratories. Installations, workshops, guided tours and performances will engage communities and visitors, underscoring the role of design as a tool for <strong data-start=\"2936\" data-end=\"2970\">social and cultural connection<\/strong>.\r\nOn the occasion of the nation\u2019s 60th anniversary, <strong data-start=\"3025\" data-end=\"3055\">Singapore Design Week 2025<\/strong> is not just a sectoral festival, but a collective reflection on how design has shaped \u2013 and will continue to shape \u2013 daily life, urban landscapes and human relationships.
