ClassiCon, a historic <strong>design furniture<\/strong> company, offers a <strong>plant-based<\/strong> version of the Irish designer's iconic textile works, reinterpreting the charm of her <strong>avant-garde designs in<\/strong> an ecological way. <strong>\r\n<\/strong>These <strong>handcrafted rugs<\/strong> are made from <strong>Himalayan nettle<\/strong> fibers, a <strong>renewable raw material<\/strong> that offers slightly iridescent color effects and a unique <strong>silky sheen<\/strong> . The natural variation in the absorption capacity of the fibers gives each rug an <strong>original<\/strong> and <strong>unique<\/strong> character, making it a true piece of <strong>textile art<\/strong>. <strong>\r\n<\/strong>Production takes place in Nepal, where nettles grow wild and without pesticides. After manual harvesting of the <strong>stems<\/strong>, the fibers are washed in spring water, softened, dried and lightened with white clay before being spun and dyed with ecological <strong>dyes<\/strong> certified OEKO-TEX\u00ae STANDARD 100.
