Nelle opere di Massimo Corona (Biella, 1968) si legge il piacere dello sguardo che si perde su una citta’. Barcellona, Berlino, Bologna, luoghi cari all’artista – tra cui la stessa citta’ natale, Biella – convivono con altre metropoli lontane, come Belgrado. La veduta aerea, tanto cara ai maestri del Rinascimento, viene presa in esame dalle carte dell’artista, che deframmenta l’immagine centellinando i movimenti del pennello.
\nL’uso di due valori cromatici principali – come azzurro e arancio, rosso e verde, oppure verde e violetto – accosta alla dimensione ottica e analitica del lavoro un elemento di sintesi che permette di focalizzare l’attenzione su certi particolari delle citta’, che diventano motivi astratti, decontestualizzati, per poi perdersi nel totale non appena ci si allontana appena dall’opera. Il tutto e’ realizzato attraverso un’attenta ricerca di equilibrio e rigore morbido, mai stridente, ma che sottolinea come al processo di sintesi corrisponda sempre una perdita, sia essa semantica o conoscitiva. <\/p>\n

In the works of Massimo Corona (Biella, 1968) you can read the pleasure of the gaze lost into a city. Barcelona, Berlin, Bologna, places worthy of the artist – including the same hometown, Biella – coexist with other distant metropolises, such as Belgrade. The aerial view, so dear to the masters of the Renaissance, is examined by the artist’s cards, defragmenting the image and distributing the movements of the paintbrush.
\nThe use of two main color values – such as blue and orange, red and green, or green and violet – is linked to the optical and analytical dimension of work as a synthesis element that focuses attention on certain particulars of cities that become abstract motives, out-of-context, and then lost in the total as soon as you just leave the artwork.
