With its innovative design and a wide range of activities, Wuhan Ski Resort establishes itself as a unique destination in the Chinese entertainment landscape. Located in the Huangpi district, near the historic city of Mulan, this complex is not only a place for winter sports lovers, but a reference point for leisure and retail, accessible all year round.
Fueled by the excitement generated by the Beijing Winter Olympics, the Wuhan Ski Resort integrates snow sports, cultural events and shopping into a single immersive experience. The centerpiece of the complex is the 500-meter-long, 100-meter-high indoor ski slope, which is a milestone for indoor winter sports in China. However, the offer is not limited to sports: the resort also includes ski schools, theme clubs, event spaces and a theme park, all surrounded by a stunningly manicured landscape.
Designed by CLOU Architects, the Wuhan Ski Resort uses an innovative architectural language that recalls three-dimensional pixels. The modular façade, designed to combine aesthetics and functionality, is a distinctive element that visually binds all the components of the complex. This design choice makes it possible to create identity and synergy between the different areas, combining sport, shopping and entertainment spaces in a single cohesive vision.
The Wuhan Ski Resort has been designed as an urban living room where indoor and outdoor spaces blend harmoniously. The area around the central lake is home to squares, shopping streets, and green spaces that stretch towards the shores, creating a welcoming atmosphere for any time of day. Thanks to careful design, the covered areas naturally open up to the outside, encouraging a continuous dialogue between architecture and landscape.
This complex, designed for continuous use, offers activities and entertainment for all ages, 24 hours a day. During the day, families can enjoy shopping and sports activities, while in the evening the resort comes alive with lights, events and spaces dedicated to nightlife.
The Wuhan Ski Resort covers an area of 178,000 square meters and is the result of the collaboration between CLOU Architects and a network of international experts, including façade designers and landscape architects. Its construction represents an example of excellence in contemporary architecture and design, focusing on social value and positive impact on local communities.
The Wuhan Ski Resort is not only a winter sports destination, but a cultural and social meeting point. With its mix of innovation, design and functionality, this project redefines the concept of outdoor entertainment, offering an unforgettable experience all year round.
