Cork is won from the outer bark of the cork oak tree which renews itself every 10 years. Long-living trees have an expected useful life of up to 100 years. These trees prefer dry and unfertile ground and help protect hot dry countries from expanding deserts.

RECYCLED LEATHER LAMP

The process of leather recycling involves leftover leather scraps which are collected from furniture and shoe factories and grinded to shreds. Then they are mixed with water and natural rubber and acacia wood bark. The leather pulp is formed in a sheet or roll and mechanically processed for size, color, and texture.

PAPER KNITTED CHAIR

With ‘Paper Planet’ we worked with recycled paper rope and thin paper sheets. The structural aspect of paper is the core of this exploration: Once cut and folded, twirled and stacked, woven and knitted the paper attains structure.Thin paper layers thus turn into strong, resistant yet delicate ropes and long flat paper sheets become volume.

With ‘Paper Planet’ we worked with recycled paper rope and thin paper sheets. The structural aspect of paper is the core of this exploration: The Rope Chair relies on the techniques of traditional wicker craftsmanship.
