One of his projects was awarded in the best product category at the 2013 Design District Award di Amsterdam. Born in 1976, Alex De Witte created a blown glass lamp called Big Bubble.
The piece looks like a soap bubble, reminding of childhood playtime despite the project is far from being childish. The most interesting feature is the extra large size, creating an overwhelming object that breaks the standard rules of design. Each lamp of the collection is a unique hand-made piece, featuring LED lighting and several sizes from 85 to 115 centimeters, as well as many colors such as smoked grey, red, amber and smoked green. A piece of furniture suiting any kind of space, to bring a transparent powerful feel all around.
