Chinese lattices evolve from a set of simple recursive rules that, when cleverly combined, result in highly regular or irregular supporting structures.
The tables are a set of freely configurable interconnecting frames that form an astonishingly lightweight load-bearing framework, assembled with flush fitting screws. The frames are made from Finnish plywood, jointed with wood propeller glue. Once put together, the framework gains additional rigidity in compression by the glass top. With only a coin for a tool, the tables are easily assembled and dismantled.
