DIY outdoor furniture: many ideas for the garden

You only need a few materials and manual skills to furnish your garden according to your taste and style

Furnishing your garden always gives a lot of satisfaction, even more so if you rely on DIY. For true lovers of the genre there is no challenge that holds but even those who are beginners and want to customize the exteriors of their home can do it, sometimes a few materials and manual skills are enough. Not only original ideas for embellishing the garden, but also recycling: giving new life to unused objects, converting them into outdoor furniture elements, is certainly an excellent choice.

Decorations with green elements
Those who want a vertical garden can create it themselves in a few simple steps. Just recover unused plastic bottles or jars, to be placed and affixed on the external wall of the house, to give a truly fascinating effect to the environment.
You can really indulge yourself with your favorite seedlings and flowers, adding extra greenery to the area. To add a touch of countryside to the outdoors, if these are large enough, it is possible to create a small vegetable garden by delimiting the perimeter with a simple wooden fence.

Outdoors for true dreamers
Lovers of outdoor relaxation will not be disappointed: all you need is a hammock, two trees and soft lights. We can hang it at the ends, perhaps adding some small lanterns to make the atmosphere even more magical, always being very careful to watch over them to avoid the danger of fire or perhaps opting for the version with an artificial flame.
The most dreamers or lovers of the stars can opt for an outdoor bed instead. In addition to the possibility of building one with pallets and large pillows, you can also recycle an old bed or perhaps a bunk bed instead of throwing it away. With the summer, the “wow” effect is guaranteed, especially if we have children in the family.

Pallets and DIY
A low-cost and very eco-friendly idea is to build furniture with outdoor pallets . By arranging them next to each other and giving them the desired shape, they can be transformed into very original seats or even tables where you can have a few meals. This type of material is definitely decorative, which is why it does not require painting but if we love colors and want to give it a more fun air, why not! We then place mattresses or special pillows on these, choosing neutral or warm colors according to the preferred style. The shades of gray will give an elegant and modern touch, those of red instead will have an energizing effect.
If the garden allows it, we can create a DIY relaxation area, with a corner bar for guests. How to do it? Armed with plywood planks, hammer and nails, we will give life to table and chairs, which can also be repainted or shaped at will. For this type of wood, greater manual skills are required, being quite thick and still requiring the use of special tools for assembly.

Exotic exteriors
For fans of ethnic style, furnishing the garden with DIY will be even easier. In fact, you can build a beautiful tent and customize it with blankets and pillows to give everything a very exotic touch, perhaps even playing with soft and warm lights.
We stretch a solid rope between two trees and lay on top of the fabrics chosen as a roof: in a few minutes the game is done. We choose old carpets with fringes and geometric decorations to cover seats that do not fit the new ensemble, adding some terracotta vases or wrought iron tables and lanterns.
