Open Studio Vol.4 “Crossed Weaves”: contemporary art opens its doors to the public in Rho

Giuliano Cataldo Giancotti's workshop is transformed into a meeting space between sculpture, performance, music and artistic experimentation

On July 2, 2026, the city of Rho will host a new event dedicated to contemporary art and creative sharing with the inauguration of Open Studio Vol.4 “Trame Incrociate”, a group exhibition curated by Chiara Di Niccolò at the LAB GIANCOTTI, in via Angelo Minotti 7.
The event represents the fourth edition of a well-established project that sees the artist Giuliano Cataldo Giancotti open the doors of his artistic laboratory to the public and other protagonists of the contemporary creative scene. A format that combines the concept of traditional exhibition with the more intimate and authentic one of the open studio, allowing visitors to enter directly into the place where ideas, works and artistic experimentation are born.
“Trame Incrociate” will not only be an exhibition, but a real immersive journey within different languages that dialogue with each other through painting, installation, sculpture, music and performance. The title itself recalls the interweaving of different experiences, visions and artistic sensibilities, united within a shared space capable of transforming itself into a cultural laboratory open to the city.
The opening night will be held on Thursday 2 July from 20:30 to 23:00 and promises to offer the public an engaging and multidisciplinary experience. In addition to the works on display, there will be moments of live music, artistic performances curated by the WHYNOT group, interviews and opportunities to meet directly with the artists involved in the project.

Among the protagonists of the exhibition are artists from different paths but united by a strong expressive research: Gep Caserta, Luigi Cibra, Veronica Galofaro, Giuliano Cataldo Giancotti, Davide Marega, Zena Santoro, Francesca Trinchero and the WHYNOT collective. Each artist will bring their own personal vision to the space, helping to create a dynamic and constantly evolving artistic dialogue.
Particularly significant will be the presence of the works and works in progress by Giuliano Cataldo Giancotti, who will offer visitors the opportunity to closely observe not only the completed sculptures, but also the creative processes and processing phases that precede the birth of a work. A choice that makes the event even more authentic and participatory, bringing the public closer to the artist’s daily work.
The initiative also confirms the growing interest in independent and hybrid exhibition formulas, in which the creative laboratory becomes a place of relationship, comparison and cultural contamination. In a historical period in which direct experience and human contact take on increasing value, events such as Open Studio Vol.4 are able to build genuine connections between artists and visitors, overcoming the conventions of the classic museum exhibition.
At the same time, the project will also expand to a second location: the Quadrifoglio Gallery in Rho, curated by Matteo Olivares. This double presence in the area will help create a widespread cultural network, strengthening Rho’s role as a reference point for the local contemporary art scene.
Through “Crossed Textures”, the GIANCOTTI LAB is therefore confirmed not only as an exhibition space, but as a living place dedicated to experimentation, research and the enhancement of independent art. An appointment that promises to transform the workshop into a crossroads of creativity, meetings and new artistic visions.
